Recently, with the recovery of the global economy, the foreign trade steel industry has gradually stepped out of the downturn. In the first half of 2021, the demand for steel products worldwide has shown a rising trend, driving the overall recovery of the steel product export market. According to customs data, from January to May 2021, my country’s steel exports reached 64.92 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 30.8%. Among them, my country’s steel exports to major consumer markets are also increasing. For example, the amount of steel exported to the EU reached 1.63 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.7%; the amount of steel exported to the Southeast Asian market reached 1.89 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 44.7%. In addition, steel prices have also increased in the first half of 2021. In particular, rising raw material costs lead to rising steel prices. According to market analysts, in the second half of 2021, the steel industry will continue to benefit from the improvement of the supply and demand structure and the continuous impact of rising raw material prices, which will further promote the high-quality supply of steel products and services. However, the foreign trade steel industry still faces some challenges in the process of development. For example, many wrought iron manufacturers are facing the challenges of technology update and environmental protection issues. At the same time, foreign trade competition is also fierce, and many countries have adopted different measures to protect their own steel production enterprises. But in general, the market prospect of foreign trade steel products is still broad, and the recovery momentum of the steel market is still good. To sum up, the foreign trade steel industry has experienced recovery and market fluctuations in the first half of 2021. However, with the gradual recovery of the global economy and the continuous innovation of China’s foreign trade industry, the prospect of the foreign trade steel market is still optimistic. In the future, as the global economic recovery continues, the foreign trade steel industry will further strengthen innovation and upgrading, and strive to become a more competitive industry.
